Maria Chaney is a MA based photographer specializing in engagement/wedding and product photography. She graduated with her BFA from Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, MA in 2021; in addition to her studies, her freelance work has allowed her to gain real world experience in fashion and lifestyle photography, product photography, and website development. Her work has been exhibited at the Porter Mill Small Works Show, Montserrat’s Juried Open House Exhibition and the ongoing Photography Departments Juried Exhibitions. Chaney also participated in a school sponsored trip to Peru in 2017 where she photographed the culture, lifestyle, and landscape of the area. One of her main objectives is to portray an interpretation rather than a literal representation in order to bring an awareness and understanding to the unspoken topics in a more creative way. With the use of desaturated tonal values she brings the attention to the importance of the content without being distracted by potential color issues.
